Ready for Kiwi!

Wanted to sleep early this evening but Carissa kinda mixed up my timing. Just fed her a bottle of milk and while feeding, I did some dazing too. Wahhhh that feeling is so wahhhh. Anyway, thought i can log in to write a little before my hair drys.

Was walking down Cuscaden Silk Road to Orchard Road and Olivier smiled and said he felt a little strange to see the x'mas light up in place in mid November. He was telling me that in Europe, the x'mas lightings won't be up till early December, he found it a little amusing in fact. Of course, I have to educate him on this whole Uniquely Singapore fiesta thingy that is a total different experience from Paris altogether. He didn't buy it because he brushed this topic aside and filled my ears with other subjects. Duh.

Oh yeah, 12 more days and I'll be having my long deserving vacation to the island of the kiwis! Kiwi kiwi kiwi! Hmm... doubt I can lay my hands on any computers there in New Zealand, so I prepared myself a booklet for my daily jot-downs. I really can't wait for 24th to come. But as murphy's law applies, just when I am all set to clock that air mileage, my desk has been piled with backlogs and new assignments. Gosh, would I be on time for my handover? I hope so. In fact, I have been constantly reminding Woon Beng to start preparing the handover list before next week so that he won't spider-panick at the last minute. And I prefer a clean handover before anyone bitch behind my back too. Fyi, my offices' bitches don't only bark, they bite till you bleed, see how vicious and lethal they are. They are detrimental in a certain angle. Wah, I'll be living in my dream life for three weeks in NZ. Staying in vinyards, farm houses and driving through hills and by the mountainous and valley backdrops.... wah.... c'est la vie!!!

My clock reads 11.28pm. Alrighty, a short note it shall be, and I'll return for more, maybe tomorrow?

A la prochaine... ...

Punggol Twins

Staff Day was fun today. In fact, this was the best amongst all those I attended so far. But boy, the sun was merciless this morning. The rays ultravioletised us and had many of us roasted. Nice tan, I thought. So Staff Day 2006 was held in Sentosa this year. Geez… Sentosa had changed this much since my last visit. The waters are clean and the beach is so fine and sandy too. A fabulous spot for the beachbummers. We passed by the dolphin lagoon and I recalled what Olivier once told me about our pink dolphins. He articulated that these pinkies' snouts are longer than the normal ones and that the colour makes them look as if they are ill and sickly. Really? Haha...

Just fed Carissa with puree, and this girl loves it best! She finished up her share. I'm trying to fill up her stomach so that she won't feel hungry in the middle of the night. This naughty girl woke me up thrice last night! 1am-ish, 3am-ish and 5am-ish!!! All three times I had to wake up and feed her. This led me to a steamy Thursday at Sentosa.

*inactive-for-half-an-hour*

Punggol Twins erupted. Mom activated 999 and I went over to help to separate the Punggol Twins; grabbed my room mate to coax her since her lava-tears were rolling down her cheeks. And so I was gone for about half an hour.

shake-head. Life of Uncle Beng for you. Now, I just need Rick Price to sing me to dreamland, and to relax my mind a little. Hmm... let's see .... Heaven Knows, or Fragile? Let's go for Fragile...

"The first time I saw her she was looking just Like an angel in the night, I tried hard not to cause no suspicion but She saw the look in my eye, but I. Bridge: Don't wanna hurt her, and I, I don't wanna see her cry, and I, I wanna love her like a woman, Cuz she's so, Chorus: Fragile, Fragile, So Fragile, Fragile. Verse: Sophisticated just like a lady, Sweet and innocent like a child, I wanna take her in my arms and hold her, Cuz I just can't resist her smile Bridge: But I don't wanna hurt her, And I don't wanna see her cry, I wanna love her just like a woman. Everywhere I go She's inside my head, So now tell me what I am gonna do, Cause she's so... Chorus "

Staff Day Eve

Can't believe my last pen-down was 24 Oct, that's a couple of weeks back. Been busy at work, and at home. You bet. Carissa has officially moved in with me and in fact, she's my room mate now. A noisy one. Her shrillls that hit millions of decibel can either deafen you, or make you lose your sanity. In some nights, I have to forklift myself out of bed to feed her when she fills my room with her vocal, and I guess this has taken a toll on me. I'm getting restless at work and my concentration level plunges as the day passes by. There were a few discussions when I actually lost my train of thoughts and I went "eh... what did I just say?" Bad. Real bad. I hope I can get accustom to this soon, else I'm not sure how bad will it affect my spiritual self.

Thank God, Olivier pulled me out this evening so that I can be away from the Punggol Twins for some hours. I was spared from their cries. Phew. Spending time with this old friend is so valuable. It feels as if I am talking to Oprah Winfrey. Oli counsels me, opens my thinking of life, jokes the fun out of blonds (himself being one), blah blah, blah... it never gets stale in the conversation. However, his philosophy is way too extreme for me to comprehend at times, perhaps it's the way how a French thinks? Beats me. This old French friend of mine just could not get his mind off work too. Has been the case since I knew him. Actually he's not the only French I know who worries about their backlogs at work. Valerie, Alex, Alexandre, Franck all my former school mates had the same mentality. Isn't that puzzling, especially when I thought Europeans are more liberal and more relax in terms of their attitude towards their work? Whatever. So Oli said he is planning to get another pair of wings, ie tattoo. Jokingly, I asked him how high and far he intends to fly, he has already a big pair of wings at his back! And he asked how many ships do I want to harbour with the anchor tattoo! What a witty reply. And yeah, I received another French book from Oli again. Sounds as if I am an avid and fluent French book reader, but, not! Hahaaa... as I feedback that previous novel was too hard to read, he bought this book which seems slightly easier to comprehend. Flipped through the pages and kind of saw more familiar words than the others that he gave. Anyway, I enjoy talking to this Parisien who has a complete different mindset from many of us. Refreshing. But something which he could not understand is my fantasy of being a farmer. He's afterall a true blue city dweller who loves cosmopolitan life.

Time check: 12.28am. Staff day will commence in nine hours time. arghhhhhhh! Kan ni nah, a complete waste of time.
